Tin Ohnmar Tun
Tin Ohnmar Tun started her practice by assisting a Senior Barrister in 1979. Her main work was in shipping but after completing her postgraduate at Maritime studies in the United Kingdom, she extended her services to Trademark registration, Protection and Litigation and was also responsible for Trademark registration and Cautionary Notice Publication.
She represents famous brands such as Louis Vuitton, British American Tobacco, Fraser and Neave, Ltd, Colgate Palmolive Ltd, Red Bull and many more quality brands. She heads and supervises a team of Litigation Lawyers.
Tin Ohnmar Tun was a member of International Trademark Association, Inter-Pacific Bar Association. Currently, a Council member of Asian Intellectual Property Association and also a Vice President of Myanmar Intellectual Property Proprietors Association.
She now heads ‘The Law Chambers’ with diverse activities apart from that of a correspondent for major International Protection and Indemnity Associations, where her forte can be said as the 4Cs-; Crew and personal claims, Collision and dock damage, Cargo liabilities and Consultation, negotiations and resolution of disputes.
She has acquired a well-deserved reputation in sensitive and complex matters, notably, the release from arrest by Admiralty jurisdiction of vessels. She has also established herself as resolving disputes fairly and expeditiously, in the interest of the members of the Association as well as for that of the injured party.
Tin Thiri Aung
Known too as Thiri to many, has gained her 1st Degree in L L.B from the Yangon University. She is a recent member to the team of correspondents and has been personally following the works of the assigned surveyors. After obtaining her post graduate diploma in Business Administration from Singapore, Thiri worked as a paralegal for Ella Cheong, Spruson & Ferguson for nearly 2 years before returning home to join ‘The Law Chambers’. She has a vast experience in foreign trademark registration procedures. She obtained her LL.M in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Turun, Italy.
Thura Thaung (L L.B)
He is a law graduate from the Faculty of Law, Yangon University. He joined the Law Chambers as an intern in 2000 and was fortunate enough to get hands on training and case handling in Marine Insurance claims, IP investigations and legal representations. He took some time out from the office to take up seafaring as a deck cadet and later joined a construction company in the Middle East that handled port projects in Dubai. He rejoined the Law Chambers in 2009 taking over the marine claims division. His overseas experiences were brought into the office, where his skills have been tested in negotiation of claim disputes. He is well known for his experience and successes in mediating and negotiating marine related disputes and claims as well as dealing with clients requiring specific expertise. He also gives his time and personal attention to overseas clients involved in corporate work and investments. He is currently overseeing marine cargo claims and surveys.
Win Naing Nyunt (Captain Win)
Capt. Win is ex-Captain from CMA CGM Shipping and PL (NOL). He is also an Associate level “Certified Insurance Profession” for Underwriting, Risk Assessment and Claims related to the insurance business recognised by ANZllF.
He is a Certified Trainer of International organizations such as IMO, FIATA, and UNESCAP for teaching Diploma programs and he is a Senior Lecturer at Strategy First University teaching in Logistics & Supply Chain Management Diploma Course.
He is a certified Safety Advisor for logistics of Dangerous Cargoes as required by Air (IATA DGR), by Sea (I.M.D.G) and by Road (A.D.R). He is a lead auditor (ABSQ) for quality assurance ISO 9001.
He recently joined the P&I Correspondent office team in Myanmar as an Advisor relating to Ships, Cargo, Surveys and Port issues.
Dr. Ma Ma Thant (LL. D, Nagoya University)
Dr. Thant obtained Bachelor of Laws in 2001 and Master of Laws (Maritime Law) in 2004 from the University of Yangon, Myanmar. After her graduation, she became a teaching staff under the Ministry of Education for some time at Dagon University in Myanmar. During that time, she got a Japanese Government (MONBUKAGAKUSHO) Scholarship for the post graduate programs. She achieved Master of Laws (Commercial Law) in 2009 and Doctor of Laws (Commercial Law) in 2012 at the Graduate School of Law of Nagoya University, Japan. Prior to joining the Tin Ohnmar Tun & the Law Chambers, she has (11) years’ experience in legal research at Myanmar-Japan Legal Research Center which is one of the overseas centres established by Nagoya University, Japan. She was chosen as a IG P&I Scholar for 2025 and she is eager to accomplish the P&I Q courses.
Sabai (Ms)
She attained her Bachelor’s degree in Science from the Yangon University (Dagon) and handles Trademark accounts and liaises with claimants and clients for both the shipping and IP cases.
In addition to the fulltime staff, The Law Chambers also have two supporting employees on the Intellectual Property team. A general litigator with 20 years’ experience in litigation and another intern, a graduate from Monash University, currently assisting the law office in updating the Intellectual Property Laws of Myanmar.
In addition

the Intellectual Property team, a part time IP event coordinator, an intern who
is in charge of marketing and research and finally an intern from the United
Kingdom who practices in Intellectual Property Laws.
